PINKLIDS Electrician’s Fever Dream DL (self-released)

New action from the cranberry bogs at the base of Massachusetts’ tail, a sooty comet straight out of a Bottlenekk distro update from ’99 – postpunk elbow to the ribs, an energetic, all-over-the-map vocalist in Amber Lawson, wrenchingly personal/sociopolitical body polemic-informed lyrics, and a Providence-proximal precision about the band’s chaos that they know how to wield. They start out in some parlance of surf-exotica and as the release goes on they get a little more worked up, before turning straight up screamo/slowcore on the last track “Going Down.” Different enough to stand out and worth more than local exposure. Check ‘em.
